Caffettiera
The coffee percolator (caffettiera in Italian) is simply a pot used to 'brew' coffee. The name stems from the word "percolate" which in effect means to pass water through coffee grounds to extract the soluble constituents of the coffee beans which give coffee its color, taste, and aroma. You can either 'push' the water though using steam pressure or allow gravity to do the work (filter coffee).
